"A painting is like a symphony of colors captured -
waiting in time for a viewer's participation
to release it's melody into the universe." --Richela Chapman
Richela's award-winning fine art features in international, national and solo exhibitions. See her art in the Online Gallery and indicate your interests and preferences on her contact page.
Richela paints from the heart, each work a piece of her soul captured in color. Her landscapes and innerscapes depict feelings she intends to convey to the viewer. She enjoys expressing composition, light, sound, and mood through paint. Unusual design decisions and interpretations of scenes and visions make her work unique.
From an early age, Richela exhibited an interest in art. After earning a B.S. degree, she taught in the public school system before receiving her M.A., administrative certification, and becoming an educational consultant. She studied under many recognized artists. Impressionists, especially Claude Monet, influenced her growth.
Richela remains an active member of the art community, serving during 2005 as President of the Amarillo Fine Arts Association. She is a Signature member of the Lone Star Pastel Society, Associate member of the Oil Painters of America, and Charter member of the Society of Master Impressionists.
